What "screened" means
Screened topsoil has been passed through a ¾ inch screen to remove large rocks, clumps, and debris. What you're left with is a clean, workable soil that's easy to spread and grade. Occasionally very small rocks come through the screen — this is normal and doesn't affect the quality or performance of the soil.
