Roll size and coverage
Each roll is 2 ft × 5 ft — 10 square feet per roll. To calculate how many rolls you need, measure your area in feet (length × width), divide by 10, and add 10% for cuts and edges.
Example: 25 ft × 30 ft = 750 sq ft ÷ 10 = 75 rolls — order 83 to be safe.

Lay it right — key tips
- Lay sod the same day it's delivered — don't let it sit rolled up in the heat
- Prep with 3–4 inches of screened topsoil for best results in Calgary's clay-heavy soil
- Water within 30 minutes of laying and keep moist for the first two weeks
- Avoid heavy foot traffic for the first 3–4 weeks while roots establish
