10mm Rundle rock is the finest size in our Rundle range — and it's the one that makes garden beds, borders, and detail work look truly finished. The small, smooth stones pack together tightly, fill in around plants cleanly, and give outdoor spaces a polished, intentional look that larger rock simply can't achieve. If you want your yard to look like it was professionally landscaped, this is the material that gets you there.
Where it comes from
Like all our Rundle rock, the 10mm is sourced from Alberta — named after Mount Rundle in the Canadian Rockies near Banff. The natural blend of quartz, feldspar, and mica gives it a smooth surface and a light grey to charcoal colour range that works beautifully in both modern and traditional Calgary yard designs.
What it's used for
- Garden beds and flower borders — the most popular use. The fine sizing fills in tightly around plants and along edges, creating a clean, finished look that's hard to achieve with larger rock
- Pathways and stepping stone surrounds — fills the gaps between flagstone and stepping stones perfectly, soft underfoot and stays in place
- Rock gardens and alpine gardens — the small size and smooth texture complement larger feature rocks and boulders naturally
- Water features — pond surrounds, stream beds, and waterfall bases. The smooth surface and natural tones look right at home around water
- Decorative concrete and resin mixes — commonly used as exposed aggregate in decorative concrete driveways and patios
- Planters and container gardens — top dress containers and raised planters for a clean, professional finish
- Indoor and outdoor decorative use — versatile enough to use in vases, fire pit surrounds, and decorative trays
10mm vs 20mm vs 40mm — which size is right for you?
- 10mm — finest finish, best for detail work, borders, stepping stone gaps, and water features
- 20mm — the most versatile all-rounder, great for garden beds, pathways, and driveways
- 40mm — bold, chunky look, best for driveways, open areas, and heavy traffic zones
