10mm limestone is the finest, most “finish-friendly” limestone we carry. The smaller stone size spreads easily, grades smoothly, and compacts very tightly — making it a great choice when you want a clean, firm surface and a more refined look than 20mm. If 20mm limestone is the workhorse for driveways and utility work, 10mm is the finisher that’s ideal for tight top layers, walkways, and detailed landscape applications.
What it's used for
- Pathways and walkways — the smaller size creates a smoother, more comfortable surface underfoot and stays in place well with regular traffic
- Driveway finishing / top layer — compacts tight for a clean, neat finish (especially when used as a thin topcoat over 20mm)
- Under pavers / interlock leveling layer — excellent for final grading and screeding where you need a tighter, more precise base
- Pipe bedding — commonly used where a smaller bedding material is required around utility lines and drainage pipe
- Trench backfill & utility applications — easy to place, level, and compact in tighter areas
- Landscape edging and borders — the neutral grey colour and clean sizing work well as a crisp divider between grass and planting beds

10mm vs 20mm vs 40mm — which one do you need?
10mm compacts the tightest and gives the smoothest, most finished feel — best for walkways, detailed grading, and thin top layers where you want a cleaner look.
20mm is the all-around option — still compacts well, but with a bit more structure for driveways, general base work, and utility applications.
40mm has the largest voids and is best for heavy-duty base and drainage applications where water movement and load handling are the priority.
