Is It Kentucky Bluegrass?

Yes. All of the sod we carry is Kentucky bluegrass — Calgary's most popular lawn variety and for good reason. Kentucky bluegrass is dense, lush, and deep green. It handles Calgary's climate well, bounces back from foot traffic, and gives you that thick, carpet-like lawn that's actually enjoyable to walk and relax on. Whether you're laying a new backyard for the kids to play on or replacing a patchy, worn-out lawn, Kentucky bluegrass is the right choice.

Is It Fresh?

This is probably the most important question — and the answer is yes. Our suppliers harvest the sod just outside of Calgary the very same day it's sold. You're not getting sod that's been sitting in a warehouse or on a pallet for days. Fresh-cut sod roots faster, establishes stronger, and looks better right from day one. That same-day harvest is one of the reasons our sod consistently performs well once it's down.

Does It Come Fertilized?

It does. The sod arrives pre-fertilized, which means it's already got what it needs to take root and start thriving in your yard. Less work for you, better results right out of the gate.

What Are the Roll Dimensions?

Each roll is 2 ft × 5 ft, which works out to 10 square feet per roll. To figure out how many rolls you need, measure the length and width of the area you're sodding in feet, multiply them together to get your total square footage, then divide by 10. We always recommend rounding up by 5–10% to account for cuts and edges.

For example: a 20 ft × 30 ft backyard = 600 sq ft ÷ 10 = 60 rolls.
